We implemented the SONOSTEPPER design & development project for our subsidiary MEDKONSULT medical technology devoted to developing and manufacturing equipment for the examination of the lower urinary tract.
This option of the SONOSTEPPER product is a purely mechanical device securing the stabilization of the introduced transrectal probe and enabling its defined step-based anteroposterior movement and highly accurate spatial setting at all axes.
The basic advantages of the designed solution comprise the achievement of a very stable fastening of the transrectal sensor in the necessary medical position through a clamping probe adaptor of magnetic stainless steel and a clamping magnet in the body of the STONOSTEPPER. This principle enables a very easy operation, maintenance and sterilization of the whole system.
SONOSTEPPER can be put on a stable mobile stand or on the flexible shoulder fastened to the euro lath of the examination bed.
SONOSTEPPER is advantageous to use in prostate brachytherapy – effective treatment of localized prostate carcinoma with high tolerance on the part of patients and very favourable treatment results. It is a technology providing small target tissue volumes with high radiation and minimizes the secondary effects of the radiation into secondary structures.
